New: MotiveMorph and MotiveMesh, Mint Motive's own system

• MotiveMorph at /morph, a material-aware generator. Pick an Aura and your filament and the engine builds the part for that material: ASA, ABS and carbon-fibre filaments get an exposed lattice skeleton (around 40–60% less plastic than the same part in solid PLA), PLA and PETG keep solid walls. The studio shows the engine's report: plastic, rough print time and relative stiffness against solid PLA.
• Three Auras. The Paddock (sim rig and garage): isogrid or honeycomb, slate and fluro green, blowout vents, exposed screws. The Studio (creator desk): slate and sage, 45° chamfers, hidden magnets, cable slots, fluted skeletons. The Galley (kitchen and home): a smooth sand exo-shell with its ribs hidden between two skins and every inside corner rounded. The Galley is heavier than a plain bin and about twice as stiff, and the report says so.
• MotiveMesh: lattice wall and desk tiles on a 30 mm grid that join with dovetail connector keys, with a twist-to-lock socket at every node. Accessories (bins, shelves, tool hooks) lock on with pins that turn a quarter turn, or with hidden 6 × 2 mm magnets. Pins and keys print in the accent colour as their own part in the 3MF.
• MotiveMesh is an open standard, in the public domain (CC0). New pages at /motivemesh: the design brief (why it exists, who it is for, its principles and limits), the full specification (grid, twist-lock socket and pin, tiles, connector keys, magnets, accessories, the Desk Pod and the material engine, every dimension), the design guidelines (Auras, colours, shape, lattice, printability, naming) and contributing (how to make compatible parts, propose changes and how versions work). Dimensioned drawings and reference models (fit test tile, pin, key, tile, a complete Desk Pod) are generated from the engine so they always match. The same documents live in the source under docs/motivemesh.
• Desk Pod, a modular desktop storage unit and MotiveMorph's new first item. Its front leans back, and it comes in every Aura: the Paddock pod is an open lattice skeleton with honeycomb sides and green lattice dividers for tools; the Studio pod is closed and chamfered with a faceplate in its front, either an organiser with SD, microSD and pen pockets or a window for a clear 2 mm sheet held by turn clips (it tells you the size to cut); the Galley pod is a rounded sand cubby with a shelf and rounded inside corners. Every part prints without supports: the sleeve stands on its end, and the side panels, faceplate, dividers and clips print flat. Both sides are MotiveMesh surfaces: twist-lock sockets on the 30 mm grid (10 to 12 a side at the default size) with bosses inside so standard pins lock tight, so hooks, hangers, bins and shelves hang on the sides of a pod. Pods join side by side with a link frame and two link keys underneath to make one long unit, and with twist-lock pins they hang on MotiveMesh too.
• Map a tool: trace your tools from a photo in Tool trace and press Make it in MotiveMorph. You get a tool tray with a pocket for each tool, built for your filament (thin walls that hug each tool in skeleton mode), on the desk or mounted on the wall as a shelf.
• Build logs and the Showcase: press I made this on any model, or Post a build on /showcase, to share photos of the print where it lives with the printer, filament, layer height, infill, print time and steps. The model's author is told and earns points, builds show on the model page, the Showcase and a new row on VERTEX, and a build from someone else counts strongly towards winning. Photos are resized in your browser and their location data is removed.
• The Mesh at /mesh: the whole VERTEX community drawn live in 3D. Every maker is a point sized by what they have made; every follow, comment, forum reply, print of someone else's model and repository add is a line, coloured by kind and thicker the more it happens. Turn it, zoom it, find anyone by @name, click a point to see who they are connected to most, and watch the last week's activity pulse along the lines. Only public activity is used. A preview sits on the VERTEX page.
• VERTEX Forum at /forum: boards for Mint Motive news, feedback, show and tell, printing help, design, each system and a workshop lounge. Threads you can vote up, sort by Hot, New, Active or Top, tags and search; replies with quotes, @mentions and simple formatting with a preview; notifications for replies, quotes and mentions; points for taking part. Replies from the Mint Motive team are highlighted, threads they answered are marked, and Straight from Mint Motive collects everything the team says. Moderators can pin, lock, hide and move threads (audited), and an admin switch turns the forum off.
• VERTEX: the community has its name, the site is now VERTEX by Mint Motive, and its home is vertex.mintmotive.com.au. The community page is /vertex (old /community links redirect). In 3D modelling a vertex is where lines meet to make a solid mesh; here every maker is a vertex, and their connections form the mesh. What you download from MotiveMorph is shared to VERTEX automatically (there is a switch next to Download to keep it private), tagged with its Aura and filament.
• First Layer: the feature for high-quality engineering (it replaces "Promoted"), with its own badge, points, Discord post and role.
• A MotiveMesh landing page in the ecosystems showcase, and the header now links each system's own studio: Gridfinity, MotiveMorph and Skådis.

New: lock the site, with a coming-soon page builder

• Admin → Site status (admins and owners): lock the site to the public for Building (coming soon), Maintenance, Downtime or Fixing. You and the team keep using the site as normal; everyone else sees a page for the reason, and the API answers 503. Sign-in stays open so staff can get in.
• Page builder with a live preview, one page per reason: headline, sub-headline, message, a countdown to launch (or to when you expect to be back), a colour, highlight cards teasing what’s coming, a waiting list (download it as CSV), the same social icons as the site footer, and your posted updates stacked newest first, each saying how long ago it was posted (“17 minutes ago”, kept current), with “Updated just now” by the badge. The page picks up new updates by itself.
• Status button: while the site is locked, staff see a floating button in the corner of every page. Hover it to see what the public sees; admins and owners can post an update, change the message or reopen the site right there. It disappears when the site reopens.
• Optionally let signed-in members in while only the public is locked out. Lock pages are kept out of search engines, and locking, unlocking and edits are in the audit log.
• Pages marked private (members-only forum boards and threads) now really tell search engines not to index them.

New: moderation tools, in the forum and in the admin panel

• Moderate while you scroll: every thread in the list has a moderator menu (⋯) to pin, lock with a reason, close as a duplicate, move to another board, approve, hide or delete it.
• Locked threads say why: a highlighted banner on the opening post shows the reason, who locked it and when, and the reply box becomes a locked button with the reason. Moderators can still reply. Close as a duplicate locks the thread and links to the original.
• In the thread: a moderator bar on the opening post (pin, lock, duplicate, move, edit, remove a linked model, hide, delete, warn or ban the author) and tools on every reply (approve, edit, hide, delete, warn or ban). Moderator edits show *Edited by … : note* on the post, and the original is kept in the audit log. Deleting is for good, with a copy in the audit log.
• Solutions: the person who asked, or a moderator, marks the reply that solved it. It is highlighted, a Solved box at the top jumps to it, the list shows *Solved*, and its author gets 5 points.
• Reports: anyone signed in can report a thread or reply with a reason. Everything lands in one moderation queue (/forum/queue, and Admin → Moderation), grouped by post, with approve, dismiss, lock, hide and delete, and an option to warn the author. The forum sidebar shows how many are waiting.
• Warnings and bans from the thread: send a warning, stop someone posting, or suspend the account for 1 day to permanently, or hide everything a spammer posted, with their record (warnings, bans, reports) alongside. People are told why in their notifications. There is a new *posting* ban that still lets people read.
• Word filter and spam control (Admin → Moderation): common swear words are masked (f***) or the post is held for review, catching look-alikes like sh1t without flagging “Scunthorpe”. Add or allow words. New accounts posting several links, or anyone posting lots, are held for a moderator; the author sees their post is waiting.
• Model file scanner: every uploaded STL and 3MF is checked before anyone can download it. Files with programs or scripts inside, paths that escape the folder, zip bombs, or G-code that flashes firmware or changes network settings are refused. Sliced G-code, settings-changing commands and extreme temperatures are allowed with a warning on the model page and sent to the queue. Moderators can take a file down everywhere, or strip it from a thread.

New: the Skådis guide

• /learn/skadis, a field guide to IKEA SKÅDIS pegboards for makers: the slot pattern and board sizes with to-scale drawings, how printed parts hang (tabs, lips and pegs), eight design rules and the tolerances for making your own accessories, a width calculator for multi-column parts, printing orientation, materials and loads, fixes for fit problems, how Skådis and Gridfinity work together, a glossary and resources. The drawings are generated from the same numbers the Skådis Studio uses.
• The Gridfinity and Skådis guides now link to each other and to the MotiveMesh spec, and the Skådis Studio links to its guide.

New: set your domain from the admin panel

• Admin → Domain: type your domain and every link the site makes (emails, sign-in, sitemap, share cards, Discord posts) uses it straight away, and it's remembered across restarts. With a Railway token (RAILWAY_PROJECT_TOKEN) it also adds the domain to Railway for you and lists the exact DNS records to create at your DNS host, marking each one done when it's live.
• Check it works looks up the DNS and confirms the domain reaches this very site over HTTPS. Only then can you send visitors on other addresses (like the up.railway.app one) to your domain, so a typo can't lock anyone out.
• Lists the sign-in callback addresses to update at Google, Microsoft, Discord, GitHub and Facebook.

New: your data, kept safe

• Admin → Data shows whether everything is saved permanently. On Railway it checks a volume is attached and that the data folder is on it, and warns in red (on Overview too) when it isn't, with exactly what to change. It also shows proof that data survives deploys (when the data began and how many restarts it has survived), counts of accounts, models, forum posts and more, and how much space each kind of file uses.
• Daily snapshots of the database on the volume (the last 7 kept), and Take a snapshot now.
• Full backup: one zip with the database and every photo, upload, profile picture and saved engine, streamed straight from the site (owners only). Restore checks a backup, swaps it in with a quick restart and keeps the data it replaced. It is also the easy way to move VERTEX between hosts.
• Deploys shut the site down cleanly: requests finish and the database is closed before it stops. Railway now restarts the site whenever it stops.

New: run the forum your way

• Forum admin (Admin → Forum, for admins and owners): create, rename, reorder and delete categories and boards, and put boards inside other boards as sub-boards (one level, like IPB and vBulletin). Deleting a board moves its threads to a board you pick.
• Permissions per board: a grid of who can see the board, read threads, start threads, reply and moderate, for guests, members, analysts, support and moderators. Admins and owners can always do everything. Quick visibility presets: Public, Members only, Staff only and Hidden.
• Locked boards (read-only except for their moderators) and a minimum number of points to start threads.
• Boards people can't see stay out of every list, search, the team feed, @mention notifications, the Mesh, link previews and page titles. Every change is recorded in the audit log.

New: safer passwords, easier sign-in

• Password strength meter on sign-up, password reset and your account: four bars, a rating and one tip. It spots the most common passwords (even as P@ssw0rd2024), keyboard runs, repeats, years and your own name or email. The server enforces the same rules.
• Suggest password: one tap fills in a strong random password like Kx7p-Qm4t-Rw9n-Hb3v (no look-alike characters), shows it and lets you copy it.
• Works with password managers: Google Password Manager, iCloud Keychain, 1Password and Bitwarden recognise the fields, offer their own strong passwords and offer to save yours after you sign up, log in or change it.
• Profile pictures: upload a photo (cropped square and shrunk in your browser, camera and location details removed) or pick one of twelve maker icons (printer, nozzle, spool, bin, sim wheel, vertex…) in one of eight colours. It shows next to your name everywhere: models, comments, the forum, the leaderboard, the Mesh and the header.
• Every FDM filament: 66 filaments in ten families (PLA and its variants, PETG and PCTG, ABS and ASA, PC, nylons and CF/GF blends, PP, TPU and TPE hardnesses, PVA and BVOH, PEEK, PEKK, PEI, PPS, PPSU, POM, and specialty ones). MotiveMorph builds for any of them, your default filament can be any of them, build logs suggest them, and /filaments is a guide with nozzle and bed temperatures, enclosure, drying, hardened nozzle, strength, stiffness and heat for each.
• The Bambu Lab H2D is listed as the dual-nozzle printer it is, with the area one nozzle reaches (325 mm) and the area both nozzles share (300 mm).
• Show/hide on password fields.
• Continue with Google / Microsoft buttons now use the full-colour logos.
• A Generators menu in the header with a picture of every generator.

New: light and dark themes

• Dark is the default everywhere again, including the pages that had cream sections (the MotiveMesh docs, FAQ, guides, about).
• A light theme is one tap away with the sun and moon switch in the header. It remembers your choice, and pages arrive already themed with no flash. The Mesh stays dark in both, like looking into space.

New: recognition, all automatic

• Leaderboard at /leaderboard: top models today, this week, in 30 days and all time, top makers, the hall of fame and every badge you can earn. /trending goes to the community sorted by trending.
• Leaderboard on the community page, on the right: top this week, top makers and the latest winners.
• Winners of the week and month, and maker of the month, picked every Monday and on the 1st by the Community Score, with a badge, points, a Discord post and a Discord role.
• The Community Score weighs trusted likes, downloads, people commenting and adds to other people's repositories. Your own likes count for nothing, likes from brand-new devices count for less, piles of likes in one hour are damped, new work gets a bonus and last period's winner a small handicap.
• 22 badges, including milestones that give themselves (first share, 5/25/100 models, likes, downloads, followers, comments, curator). Admins can rename them, recolour them, set points and link a Discord role, or add their own.
• Staff tags next to names everywhere: Owner, Admin, Moderator, Support and Team.
• From Mint Motive: a row of the team's own models on the community page.

New: upload your own models

• Upload an STL or 3MF you designed anywhere (Fusion, Onshape, Blender, OpenSCAD) at /upload. See it in 3D before you share, then it joins the community as an Original with likes, comments, repositories and the leaderboard.
• Files are checked to be real STL or 3MF, 3MF parts and transforms are read in the browser, and the picture is made for you. Private uploads stay in My designs until you share them.
• Admins can cap the file size and switch uploads off.

New: the Skådis generator

• Hooks, shelves, tool holders, trays, a Gridfinity shelf, printable pegboard panels and a fit test for IKEA SKÅDIS-style pegboards, in its own Skådis Studio at /skadis, kept apart from the Gridfinity generators and clearly labelled so the two systems never get mixed up. The site's Gridfinity grid settings never touch Skådis spacing, and old links go to the right studio.
• Accessories are printed on their side, so the hook tabs run along the layers and don't snap. Hooks land on the 40 mm columns automatically, and optional anti-tilt pegs sit two rows down.
• The Gridfinity shelf comes with a matching baseplate that drops into it, so your bins go on the wall.
• Every board measurement is a setting (slot size, board thickness, spacing, clearance), and the tab and lip are always kept small enough to pass through the slot.
• The Skådis ecosystem page is now live and links to the generator.

New: Discord, your way

• Edit every Discord post in admin → Integrations: the message above the card, title, text, link, footer, picture and maker, with {{variables}} like {{maker}}, {{title}}, {{tags}} and {{award}}. A live Discord-style preview updates as you type, using real models from the site, and Send a sample posts your unsaved draft to a channel.
• Post as the bot: besides webhooks, a destination can be a channel ID, and the Mint Motive bot posts there itself. Use one per channel, for example changelog posts to #changelog and new models and winners to #new-models.
• Winners are announced in Discord automatically.

New: more ways to sign in

• Sign in with GitHub or Facebook, as well as Google, Microsoft (Outlook and Hotmail) and Discord. GitHub uses your verified primary email; Facebook addresses are never merged into an existing account on their own.

New: the AI steward

• Once a week Claude reads the award races and voting patterns, tag and generator trends and the ecosystem radar, searches the web for storage ecosystems that are taking off, and writes proposals: score weight nudges, new ecosystems with sources and licence notes, radar keywords and generator ideas.
• Admins apply or dismiss each one. Autopilot can apply weight nudges (at most 20% a week, always inside set limits) and radar keywords by itself; new ecosystems always wait for a person. Everything is in the audit log.

Look and feel

• Buttons are rounded rectangles with a softer hover; secondary actions are outlined.
• Category tags are pills (#wall, #pegboard); kind labels and quiet chips use a new warm sand accent.
• Fewer divider lines: FAQ answers, settings rows and lists are cards with space between them.

• Multi-colour 3MF. Label text and size numbers are separate parts on filament 2, locked to their bin, ready for an AMS. Pick their colour before downloading.
• OBJ downloads for Blender, Fusion, Inventor and other CAD software.
• Send to slicer opens a model in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer or Cura.
• Easy reach: scoops on any side and a finger notch in the front wall of bins; chamfered pocket edges and finger channels in holders.
• Labelled sets: drill bits, metric and SAE hex keys, ¼" and ⅜" sockets, or your own sizes, with the size printed by each pocket.
• More holders: screwdrivers, tweezers, craft knives, pliers, files, router bits, markers, brushes, glue sticks, magnets, heat-set inserts, jumper wire bundles and pin headers.
• Egg-crate dividers. Divider plates that cross now interlock, and you choose how many to print.
• Extras: a parts scoop and loose divider plates.
• Your printers and preferences are saved to your account and loaded every time: printers you own, file format, slicer and your own starting settings.

New: accounts

• Sign in with Google, Microsoft or Discord. Discord sign-in checks you are in the Mint Motive server and gives you the member role.
• Two-factor sign-in with any authenticator app, plus recovery codes.
• See and end your sessions on other devices.

New: pages

• Printer pages for every printer, with the biggest Gridfinity plate it prints.
• Drawer pages for popular drawers and toolboxes.
• FAQ, contact form and the community and open-source policy: everything made here is public domain.
• Social links in the footer, and better titles and previews when links are shared.

• Roles: owner, admin, moderator, support and analyst, each with only what they need.
• Watch a live studio to help someone, a live list of who is on the site, and an error feed.
• Engine controls: switch any feature off or make it members-only, change the Gridfinity constants and size caps, set starting settings and templates, limit downloads, flush caches, and snapshot and roll back the whole front end.
• Discord webhooks for the changelog, shared models and featured models, with your own bot name, icon and colour.
• Audit log of every staff action, chained so tampering shows.
• Inbox, bulk clean-up of saved designs, favicon upload, API tokens, and a panel for each user showing their models in 3D.

• Labels printed on the bin. Type a label for each compartment and it prints as raised text you can print in a second colour. Label shelves go left, centre, right or full width, at the back or front, at any size. Their angled undersides print without supports.
• Clip-on labels that hook over a bin wall or divider, with an angled face. They print on their side without supports.
• Movable dividers. Divider slots in the bin walls, with matching plates as separate parts.
• Soldering storage: solder wick, 5 and 10 ml flux syringes, flux pens, solder tubes, T12 tips and jumper-wire combs.
• Boards and breadboards: Arduino Uno, Mega and Nano, ESP32, Raspberry Pi 4/5 and Pico, and full, half and mini breadboards. Stand them on edge in slots, or lay them flat in stackable trays.
• Super light holders. Thin walls around each pocket in place of a solid block, using a fraction of the plastic.
• Border spacers. Print the drawer border as separate strips if you prefer.
• Share any design with a link, using your phone's share sheet.
• Admin panel for the site owner: visitors, models generated and downloaded, printers chosen, how popular each option is, every model with its settings (open or download it), users, bans and site settings.

• Stacked bins no longer touch dividers or label shelves in the bin below.

• Split for your printer on every baseplate. Search 130+ printers by name or type a custom bed size. Tiles are split evenly (12 cells become 6 + 6), or largest-first, and rectangular beds are used in either direction.
• Border on or off. Fill the gap to the drawer walls, or leave it. Put the grid in the centre or against any side.
• Exact clip count, with optional spares on the clip sheet.
• ZIP download. Every tile and the clip sheet as separate files, plus a read-me with the layout map.
• Baseplate styles: frame, lite lattice or solid; magnet holes with crush ribs, weight pockets, and plain, countersunk or counterbored mounting holes.

• An underside camera view, and a format choice (3MF or STL) that is remembered.

Improved

• Bin floors now sit at the standard 7 mm.
• The site layout was checked at phone, tablet and desktop widths; the menu and hero were rebuilt for small screens.

• Tool trace. Photograph tools on A4, US Letter, A5 or A3 paper and get a bin with a pocket shaped to each one. Straightens the photo, finds each outline, adds clearance and lets you set depths and finger notches.
• AI labelling. Names each traced tool, filters out shadows and suggests pocket depths (free account needed).
• Lite clip plates. Enter a drawer and your print bed. The plate is split into tiles that fit, padded to the drawer walls and joined with printed bowtie clips.
• Accounts. Save designs, reopen them on any device and share them with a link.
• MakerWorld text. One click copies a description with a link that reopens your exact design.
• New Mint Motive look, and a small Mint Motive mark on each model.
