The VERTEX app
VERTEX, on your home screen.
Add VERTEX to your phone, tablet or computer and it opens like an app: its own icon, full screen, and notifications when someone replies, a bounty you asked for gets a design, or a print finishes. It’s free, and there’s no app store: it installs straight from here in a few seconds.
iPhone and iPad
- Open this page in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open VERTEX from its new icon. To get notifications, go to Account → Notifications in the app and turn them on.
Notifications need iOS 16.4 or later, and only work in the app you added, not in Safari.
Android
- Open this page in Chrome (Samsung Internet and Edge work too).
- Tap Install at the top of this page, or open the browser’s ⋮ menu and tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Open VERTEX from its new icon.
Press and hold the icon for shortcuts to the Gridfinity studio and your notifications.
Computer
- In Chrome or Edge, click Install at the top of this page, or the install icon at the right of the address bar.
- VERTEX opens in its own window, and you can pin it to your taskbar or dock.
On a Mac with Safari 17 or later: File → Add to Dock.
What’s the same, and what’s different
- It’s the same VERTEX. Same account, same designs, same everything. Anything new on the site is in the app straight away, with nothing to update.
- Notifications on your phone: replies, bounties, mentor answers. You choose which in Account → Notifications.
- You need a connection. Without one, it shows a page saying you’re offline, rather than old information.
- Remove it any time like any other app. Your account isn’t affected.
